Toast is my warm easy go-to breakfast and snack option, especially for these below zero days in Illinois we have been having.
You can mix and match fruit, nut spreads, and seeds for toppings in this plant-based recipe. The variety and flavor options are limitless in this protein packed meal.
In fact this recipe has 14 grams of Protein.
That's almost 1/3 of the average woman's daily needs for protein!
Fruit and Whole-Grain Toast
Course: Breakfast Prep Time: 3 minutes Cook Time: 2 minutes Total time: 5 minutes Servings: 2
2 slices of whole-grain bread (I used Aldi's Simply Nature-7 Grain Bread)
2 Tbl of peanut butter
1 medium-sized banana
1/2 Tbl of chia seeds
1.) Put slices of bread in toaster or oven toaster and heat to desired crispness
2.) Spread 1Tablespoon of peanut butter onto each slice of toast
3.) Sprinkle Cinnamon onto peanut butter spread
4.) Slice banana in 1/2 inch slices and place approximately 5 slices onto each piece of toast. Slice strawberries into 4ths and place approximately 1 strawberry on each piece of toast.
5.) Sprinkle chia seeds
6.) Drizzle honey on top for an extra gooey sweetness
